After the Paradise fire, instead of companies investing in affordable housing, they opted to build completely unaffordable luxury apartments while all affordable housing was essentially halted. Has anyone had any good experiences with property management in Chico or are they all horrible and doing the bare minimum? And I don’t want to wait until the last minute to find a place. But I can’t find any other places that fit our budget that have places to rent. The two that I’ve been inquiring it have been Hill Properties and Sierra. I don’t want to waste my money applying to places that they can’t even tell me basic information about them. So you’re supposed to apply sight unseen and pay 30 dollars each per each application. Then they write an email back a week later that the unit has been reserved, even though you’ve been calling for two weeks about it just trying to get basic information so you can decide whether or not to apply. You write emails with questions and no one answers. You call for two weeks and no one picks up. I don’t know if it’s just because we’re looking in the student area so the property management doesn’t give a shit. We’ve been trying to find a place to rent for the next school year.
